This original painting is part of the 78-piece Demand & Delight tarot series, created directly for the working deck. The piece measures 9×12 inches, with the tarot image about 6×10 inches, framed by hand-applied metal foil that shifts in the light. Signed on the front, bottom right.
The King of Swords shows a crowned figure seated with one knee raised, leaning slightly back. A sword rests upright across their lap, held loosely but with presence. The figure’s body is bare, framed in deep reds and oranges, with bold linework grounding the image in weight and control.
