Description
This original painting is part of the 78-piece Demand & Delight tarot series, created for the working deck itself. The piece measures 9×12 inches, with the central tarot image about 6×10 inches, bordered by hand-applied metal foil that shifts and gleams in the light. Signed on the front, bottom right.
In The Hierophant, wisdom comes through service. Seen from the perspective of someone seated above, the bootblack bends to their work, polishing a high boot with care and precision. Keys hang from a band at their wrist, symbols of responsibility and trust. Painted in icy blues and purples against a violet ground, the card reimagines tradition not as dogma, but as mentorship, ritual, and devotion through acts of service to the community.
One-of-a-kind, signed on the front. A standalone artwork and a living fragment of the tarot deck.
