This original painting is part of the 78-piece Demand & Delight tarot series, created for the working deck itself. The piece measures 9×12 inches, with the central tarot image about 6×10 inches, bordered by hand-applied metal foil that gleams in changing light. Signed on the front, bottom right.
In The Magician, the tools of the four suits—wand, cup, sword, and pentacle—surround the figure, who radiates focus and self-possession. With a wand raised toward the heavens and a cup grounded in hand, the image channels transformation and willpower, showing how energy can be directed with intention. Jewel tones of teal, gold, and violet highlight the figure’s commanding presence against a field of stars.
