About Nadia

Nadia grew up in Bettendorf, a Mississippi River town in Iowa. They spent their youth with a pencil or a crayon in their hand, as well as music, theatre, and every creative writing class they could get their eyes on. At 16, Nadia played the flute and piccolo in the pit orchestra of their high school’s production of The Music Man. In that sweaty pit of teenage hormones, they met their spouse, Bruce – who would become one their main sources of inspiration through their entire adult life. The pair attended University of Northern Iowa and then Iowa State University. Nadia focused on cultural anthropology, minored in design studies, and then off they went to Arizona.

For years, Nadia worked in corporate environments in administrative capacities – and, unsurprisingly, hated it. In 2014, they left to pursue art full-time. They’ve tried many different media – acrylic, paint, resin, watercolors, and experimental techniques, such as 3d pen and gel printing. Though the media has changed, Nadia’s work usually portrays humans enjoying their bodies.

Their work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Twisted Windows, Seattle Erotic Art Festival, Dirty Show Detroit, Erotic Art London, Ben Oakley Gallery in London, and numerous group and solo exhibitions across the United States. Nadia’s art has appeared in multiple anthologies and publications and has been featured through performance platforms such as the Bawdy Storytelling Livestream and Podcast.

Now, Nadia travels to various kink conventions, art gatherings, gallery exhibitions, and night markets to share their work and to teach around the country. They create a new major project almost yearly. When they’re not on the road, they’re home with their spouse, Bruce, four disrespectful dogs, and a cozy art studio in which to study people, their bodies, and how they think and move.
