Description
This original painting is part of the 78-piece Demand & Delight tarot series, created directly for the working deck. The piece measures 9×12 inches, with the tarot image about 6×10 inches, framed by hand-applied metal foil that shifts in the light. Signed on the front, bottom right.
The 2 of Swords shows a bound figure seen from above, arms crossed and tied at the wrists. Their head is lowered beneath the knot, the body folded under its own weight. Stark lines and pink-red tones emphasize the tension of being held still and unable to act.
